WHAT IS CHICKEN MASALA:


Chicken masala is tasty and full of masala (spices) recipe. Because of using peas and Chicken together, this is a protein-rich food. It is primarily a Bengali recipe and by this recipe everyone can taste the special cuisine of Bengal. Today I am sharing with you chicken masala recipe, to make this recipe follow the steps below.

INGREDIENTS:


*1cup - 250ml; *1tbsp. – Tablespoon; *1tsp. – Teaspoon; 

  • Matar (Dried yellow Peas) - 1 cup.
  • Chicken (Preferred boneless) – 250 gram.
  • Onion - 2 big or 3 medium
  • Tomato - 2 medium tomatoes.
  • Oil - 3 to 4 tbsp.
  • Salt - As per taste.
  • Cumin seeds (Jeera) - ½ tbsp.
  • Bay leaf ( Tej patta) - 1 piece.
  • Ginger & Garlic paste – 1 tbsp.
  • Cumin (Jeera) powder - ½ tbsp.
  • Red chilli (Lal Mirch) power - ½ tbsp.
  • Turmeric (Haldi) powder - 1 tbsp.
  • Garam masala - 1 tbsp.
  • Water - as per requirement.

INSTRUCTIONS:


1. Keep peas soaked overnight, cook up to 3-4 whistle in the pressure cooker.  After it boiled, drain the water from it.

Tips** (you can give more or less whistles as your pea’s type  and add 1 tsp. of salt ,it helps to boil properly.) **.

2.  Take Chicken breast piece, cut the chicken into very small pieces.

3.  Put the Chicken pieces into a bowl, add ¼ tbsp. turmeric powder and ½ tbsp. salt on it, marinate for ½ hour.

4.  Chop the onions into medium size.

5.  Make the tomato puree.


HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN MASALA:


Step 1: Heat the pan, put 3-4 tbsp. of oil on pan and heat the oil. Add Cumin seeds (Jeera), bay leaf on oil and fry for ½ minute.

Step 2: Add chopped onion on oil and fry until it become brown. Add 1 tbsp. of ginger-garlic paste on pan and fry it for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3: Now add the tomato puree and fry it for another 2 minutes.

Step 4: Add all spices (cumin powder, chili powder, turmeric powder and salt) one by one on pan, mix well and put ½ cup of water.

Step 5: Now put the chicken on pan, roast the chicken until the chicken fat comes out as oil from it.

Step 6: When oil comes out from masala, add the boiled matar (peas) on pan. Mix all the things properly and roast for another 1 minute.

Step 7: Add 2 cups of water and cook for 2 minutes, put the lid on. 

Step 8: Reduce the flame and cook for another 10 minutes.

Step 9: When Chicken gets cooked properly, turn off the heat, add 1 tbsp. of garam masala on it.

Step 10: Chicken Masala is now ready to be served. It is very good combo with Naan, Paratha, Roti or Rice
