BUTTER NAAN RECIPE

WHAT IS NAAN:

Naan and Kulcha both are different varieties of Indian breadsNaan is soft and spongy bread. It is considered as a main course for Indians. This Indian bread is very famous for its softness and cooking process. Many of people use activated yeast to make it fluffy and add various spices on it for taste and flavor. But here we use baking powder and normal curd to make it perfect, soft, spongy and tasty. Though its outside is little crisp but its inside is soft and spongy. Cooking has no limits; everyone can choose their own ingredients to mark their recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

*1cup - 250ml; *1tbsp. – Tablespoon; *1tsp. – Teaspoon; 

  • Flour – 2 cups
  • Curd – 1 cup
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp       
  • Butter – 1 tbsp.
  • Sugar – 1½ tsp.
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Black cumin (kalonji) – 1 tbsp.


INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Curd is enough to make the naan dough. Don’t use extra water.

2. Instead of black cumin you can use coriander leaves.

3. Strain the flour before use it for dough.

4. You can increase the resting time of dough. In that case after 1 hour knead the dough & cover it once again. And let it for another 1 hour. 


HOW TO MAKE BUTTER NAAN:


Step 1: Take 2 cups of flour on a bowl, add ½ tsp of salt, 1 tbsp. of butter, 1½ tsp. of sugar, 1 tsp. of baking powder and mix them very well.

Step 2: Now add 1 cup of curd little by little to make soft dough. Cover the bowl & let it for 1 hours to rest.

Step 3: Make 4 balls of the dough. (Before using the dough, mix it very well with using palm for 2-3 minutes.)

Step 4: Now make the ball flat and round using chakla & belan. It should be thicker than an Indian roti (bread). Brush it with butter.

Step 5: Sprinkle black cumin (jerra) seeds on the round roti (bread) and finally roll the belan on the bread so that all stick together. Put it on a baking try.

Step 6: Preheat your  oven at 180° C in convection mode. put the tray into oven and bake it for 4-5 minutes.

Step 7: Brush the naan with butter, your butter naan is ready to be served.

Step 8: If you are doing by tawa, then first heat the tawa. Do water brush on one side of naan, put it on tawa. Then flip the tawa on gas flame directly & cook it for 2-3 minutes. your naan will be ready then put some butter on it.


Naan is ready to be served. It is little crispy from outside but soft and fluffy from the inside. Paneer Chole Masala is the best combo for this Spongy Naan.
